About the event

Overview
This workshop will cover key issues in U.S. tax and estate planning for private clients, summarizing any new changes for 2017. Content will be divided between topics affecting U.S. citizens resident in Canada and topics affecting Canadians with U.S. beneficiaries and/or assets. The workshop will conclude with a forecast into what participants can expect from a Trump administration.

Christine’s practice focuses on cross-border tax and estate planning solutions for high net worth individuals, domestic and international Will and trust planning, immigration and emigration planning, foreign investment in U.S. real property interests, private client inbound and outbound issues, and related private client tax controversy issues. 

Christine is a member in good standing of the New York Bar and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada (Ontario). She holds a law degree from McGill University and a Masters of Law in Taxation from the University of Miami. Christine was the recipient of the 2012 Widdifield Award for excellence in legal writing in the area of trusts and estates law and is a frequent speaker on cross-border issues.

This seminar will be of particular interest to anyone who makes financial and/or investment decisions on behalf of U.S. clients and their families - including financial planners and investment advisors.
